Rattling noise on front of engine
Hello every one, just got 1 month ago new 2015 ml350 with 3.5 v6, and noticed that on idle speed engine making ratteling noice, sound like disel, when rpm go up about 1000 sound gone and working like normal gas engine. Is this problem with timing chane,valves, or it is normal? I have Pathfinder before and this is sound similar(pathfinders timing chane regulator make that noice)

so far I find out that this is common issue with timing chane, I will bring car back to the dealer and will ask money back, this is not a joke. Engine is assembled in Germany< I do not want to any mechanics in dealer garage unseal it and repair, I will ask tottaly replaice engine or money back. Not good deal for now< dont like start brand new vechicle with problems

Maybe research lemon laws in your state and start that procedure per the guidelines.
I have not seen the timing chain being a common issue but I could be wrong. Actually I cannot recall anyone's timing chain as a source of problems on this board. Hopefully it'll be an easy fix. Good luck.

OK , I feel so stupid. Did appoitment to dealer and went this evening there. They say it normal sound when engine hot. I did not hear it in cold start. So dealer pull next to my other 2015 ml 350 and in 4th row start a car with same engine, the all of cars make same sound like my, similar to disel works. Fill better now, because it 1st time I have MB.
