Unfortunately, the situation is a little bit more complex than your question. There WASN'T a 2014 ML400. In 2014, there was an ML550. For 2015, MB replaced the ML550 with the ML400. The ML550 had a Bi Turbo V-8, where as the ML400 has a Bi Turbo V-6. The horsepower and torque are down significantly with the ML400 versus the ML550. You LOSE 73 horsepower and 89 pound/feet of torque in the ML400 versus the ML550. When I ordered my ML back in mid January, I would have loved to have ordered an ML550 with the Bi Turbo V-8, but since it was no longer available and replaced by the smaller engined ML400, I decided that, to me, it wasn't worth it to "upgrade" from the naturally aspirated ML350's 3.5 V-6 to a Bi Turbo 3.0 V-6 on the ML400. I was extremely disappointed that MB did away with the Bi Turbo V-8 ML550. I know the ML400's Bi Turbo V-6 has an advanced design, etc., etc., but I'm just old school and would have loved to have gotten the Bi Turbo V-8 that was in the ML550. Now the only way to get a Bi Turbo V-8, is to step up to the ML AMG and pay $100K+.
