Do we need extra load tires?
The time as come again to put tires on my wife's '12 ML 350. It has the 20" amg wheel option with the 265/45-20 factory tires.
The factory conti's are extra load, do we need extra load tires, she never tows anything.
Also there seems to be many more options for tires in the 255/50-20 or 275/45-20 size, any issues besides a slight speedometer variation?

Yes, you need the XL tires if that's what came OEM on your car. I can't imagine a reputable tire shop putting tires on your vehicle that come with a lower than stock spec load rating. Your ML is heavy, don't scrimp here.
