I'm in the midst of arbitrating a claim for damage to the DEF supply valve. My technician advises that the supply line connection was broken by an after-market trailer hitch installer failing to properly support the tank during installation.
The installer's employer has asserted that the damage was preexisting and offered to pay half of the $1400 repair cost hence the reason for taking the arbitration route.
Can anyone supply a resource that might described the likelihood/frequency/possibility that the supply line could be damaged by something other than improper handling of the DEF supply tank?
Thanks!
