ML250 & GLE 300d BTC owners opinions wanted

I am considering trading my 2012 ML350 (V6) BlueTEC for a new 2016 GLE300d (4 Cyl.) I'd love to have some observations and opinions from present owners/drivers of the ML250BTC and/or the GLE300d. I am presuming that the engines and drivetrains in those two vehicles are essentially the same. A few questions:

MPG... what have you experienced? The official number is around 29 mpg hwy; my 2012 is rated at 28 but I routinely get around 31 (per the instrumentation)).

Cabin Noise (engine noise). Is it reasonably quiet? My 2012 V6 engine specs (max HP @ 3600) indicate that it might run at lower RPMs than the 4 cylinder version (max HP @ 3800).

Does the four cylinder version run at higher RPM's. If anyone has noticed, or if you happen to look next time you are out there, what does the engine tachometer indicate at 60 mph?

ECO-start. Is that something that you routinely use, or don't use? Does it result in awkward or jerky starts? Is it worthwhile?

LED headlights. How do they stack up against the xenon/HID?

How well does the AC work on very hot days?

Any other meaningful comments of criticism or praise?

Thanks for taking the time; I appreciate it.

I'm a new "returnee" to the MB forum, and can post some thoughts on this but not as much detail as you are looking for.

Just picked up an ML250 BTEC Saturday. Previously, had ML BTEC V6 and E BTEC V6 and a BMW diesel after those. Initial impression of the new ML250 is positive. I always found the old V6 diesel quick enough to almost be fast. The new one is quick enough, but won't be confused with fast. It seems refined and smooth for sure. I am very pleased after about 300 miles of driving over the weekend.

I noted just under 30mpg with AC on and doing 80-85mph on freeway. I find that good. The next day in heavy rain and AC on going 60mph most of the way it was almost 34mpg.

I did find my tires are inflated to the max load per the door sill and I questioned that and found the other thread that confirms my thought that they are over inflated. Should be 35 psi front/back and I will change that. Might have some impact, not sure.

Overall, albeit only 2 days, I'm impressed with this new ML for sure. Still hear the clatter, but less than I recall from the previous.
