iPad Dock Question

Hello,

Does the iPad dock sold by MB for the GLE backseat fit the current iPad (iPad Air) or just the old one? Apple made the Air a little bit narrower and took off some of the bezel a few years ago and it always takes car companies several model years to update for new technology. The MB site does not specify.

Thanks.

My new '15 Ml came with a cable that fits my Iphone 5 (the narrow one).

I would be interested to find out about the ipad dock as well. I am wondering if i should go the ipad dock route, or the rear seat entertainment considering i have the pre wiring for it already...

any feed back would be a great help.

Pre-wiring for the rear seat entertainment is only for the MB accessory system. The iPad dock will specify on the pkg which iPads it fits. Ask the dealer if they can order one in for you to test out before you pay for it.

Save yourself some money and just get something like this:

Amazon.com: TFY Car Headrest Mount Holder for iPad Air (iPad 5 5th Generation), Fast-Attach Fast-Release Edition, Black: Car Electronics Amazon.com: TFY Car Headrest Mount Holder for iPad Air (iPad 5 5th Generation), Fast-Attach Fast-Release Edition, Black: Car Electronics

We've got a TFY holder for our iPad and it is great for just the occasional use.

They had something like that and after awhile and going over so many bumps it wears out and starts falling down. Also I want something that has charging built it (pre-wired) because I tried to run the USB charger myself before plugging in in the trunk and then under the carpet, under the seats/metal, then up through the back of the front seats and it kept unplugging itself and was not reliable.
