Designo VS multi contour/active seats

Designo VS multi contour/active seats
Can someone tell me what the difference is between the two exactly?
Is the designo seat a multi contour seat with the upgraded leather? With no ventilation or massage? Are those options even available with the designo seat?
Does anyone have preference over designo seats vs active/vent/massage/ multi contour seats?
I'm referencing 2012 and 2013 MLs.

desingo is a premium leather offering and both ventilated seats and the multi-contour option can be added to them.
I have the Auburn Brown (not designo) leather in a 2013 ML550 with ventilated and multi-contour options. I have designo in my AMG and it is better but both are very nice. It was standard in my AMG.

I have the auburn designo/satin ash in my 13' ML550. It's beautiful, nobody sits in the truck without commenting. Definitely my favorite option and has held up incredibly well to two kids and a golden retriever.
