Delivery Delays
Just returned from my MB dealer trying to roll over my ML350 lease for a new GLE. I was told while I could place an order for an early December build date that with current delays it would be February at least for delivery. Their claim is that with all the issues with VW even MB built cars are being held and not released until tested. They claim that they have cars in port waiting almost 4 months to be released and even though GLE's are built here they are still being held.
Now they will try to locate what I want...or at least close to it
Anyone else having issues with delivery delays?

There "might" be a bit of confusion - the new GLC's are being held at port - originally expected for early-Nov release - although no formal/formal word - some MB dealer bulletins indicate early-mid/December release due to more intensive Federal scrutiny. Some GLC's arrived starting mid-September, and have been "stacking up" at port since.
GLE350's/GLE400's?GLE450-coupe's have been quite tight - and there have been some production slippage on short range/30 day production schedule - there has also been a somewhat more dramatic change on available qty's on the 60-90 range - where expected production qty's for Dec were rescheduled/moved out to Jan - and most Jan moved to Feb - net result is lower projected dealer qty's for both December and January

I don't want to say I got resistance when building mine. But they did stress and state multiple times that finding a car "close" to what I want is much quicker than ordering. Additionally they supposedly were expecting more cars in sept and October when I ordered than they were delivered making finding a car even more difficult. With those issues I decided to build and wait for what I want than search and wait for what was close to what I wanted.
With such delays i was told expect late November early December. I guess now I'm gunna adjust my expectations to Xmas time. Supposed to be built on 11/11/15.

Placed an order for a '16 GLE 350 on Oct 10th. Seeing this thread, I gave my dealer a call. He is aware of the delay but as fabbrisd1 posted, it was only on the GLC. My dealer said currently, there are no delays on the GLE's but said current stock on GLE's are slim because the demand for them are currently very high and he also added that because of this, the Winter Event savings on GLE's aren't going to be that great.

Great hope there are no delays for everyone. I returned to the dealer and actually found what I wanted coming in mid December. Only thing I needed to do is to get running boards which I didn't want but since about 80% of the GLE's coming in have them it opened up the available cars with options I wanted. Not a big fan of the running boards had them on my X5 didn't get them om my 13 ML but will have to put up with them on my 16.

I have seen some "sliipage" on delivery dates this past week - overall on my GLE build order's GLE350/300d - about 1 week - availability of GLE400 and GLE450 Coupe - very/very tight but holding on schedule as of this past week.

Our secondary option was the Porsche, which happened to be in the building down the street. I stopped in and if we wanted to, i could cancel the GLE, and be in a loaded Cayenne tomorrow for essentially the same price.
Thoughts?

I've drooled over the cayenne for years. Problem is that gle400 price equiv is the cayenne v6. And the resale values on them aren't famous. Plus maintenance is slightly more than mb.
Plus the minor tweeks and line adjustments over the years on the cayenne scream to me that something bigger changing is near in the future.
I sat in tbe cayenne and its nice. Seemed like lots off bells and whistles and cool pretty buttons to push. Almost overwhelming the amount of stuff at your finger tips. I can't bring myself to test drive one because I know exactly what will happen. I'll td the v6. Not like it. Like the S or Gts more and then blow my budget.
