Interesting that a 17" set fits, saves big money. 19" tires cost that much alone, no wheels. Also your rebate offsets much of shipping cost.

Right, think big and safe. One incident due to black ice or long braking could cost you much more in deductible and insurance increases.

Without the TPMS on many cars you not only see dash light but you also may lose certain function. Default could be that when car thinks a tire is low then traction control won't shut off via override. In those cars, then, you can't purposely spin tires as when trying to rock out of a snow rut. Stability control staying on is likely not such an issue. Need to search TPMS or ask forum members here about benz without sensors as I did not research because I'm getting some sensors but not from tire rack. Oro tek makes one equivalent to the factory Schrader - ill edit for details later. Buying your own to add later if you want costs about 50-60 less per set than tire rack, but then adding costs more yet. No dealer program needed, by the way, easy to swap sets.

17" tires won't fit the ML, 18's are the limit on the lowside.

I went ahead with order, new Blizzaks, new aluminum (discounted) five spoke wheels, and the sensors installed. Total cost was $1400 shipped, but I'm looking forward to powder days with glee.

If you don't install TPMS you will get a warning light on your dash, that the system is INOP. Check with the dealer.
