2014 ML350 DAS4 Key & Remote Start
Just an FYI-
I wanted a 3rd Key since I used my 2nd key for Mid City Engineering Remote Start with Drone services.
It costed me a total of $1250 for both the remote start kit plus professional installation. This included overnighting the ignition switch to Mid City both ways so they could soder the extra pin in the ignition switch.
Mercedes parts ordered me a key without registration and ID because the key is not ordered by VIN. The key came in the next day. I was able to drive into the dealership get the key from parts and walk next door to the service department. They took the car and added the key as an third key. It took all but 5 mins to do.
Total cost for the key was $259.50 without tax using a 15% off coupon I found on their parts/service page.
$200-key.
$59.50-program it. (Half hour labor charge).

Funny..maybe it's a different MY but I didn't need an additional key for Compustart/Drone..do you have push button start ?..(don't recall technical name)

In the second quarter of 2014 build, Mercedes went from DAS3 to DAS4 ignition system. Security needed updated to prevent hacking and stealing your car. I read it was common in the BMWs and Mercedes wanted to prevent this from happening to their automobiles.
The new remote starter kits uses a third key and its rolling codes to start the car.
