bulb replacement for front door threshold
hi, don't know what I'm searching for... There's front door threshold with lighted "Mercedes Benz" letters... anybody knows what type of bulb installed there?

i don't know but making a guess: generally, wording which is spread out requires
even lighting so bulbs aren't usually the first pick. I have seen others for the
door sill and they are LED panel/strip....or electroluminescent strip. fairly
inexpensive so if you are not sourcing this through the dealer, you may want
to consider ebay or an LED supplier. may as well get two so that the light
levels match on each side. oh, I should mention that they may require a
ballast of sorts or a ac/dc converter in order to operate. you'll know once you
pop that sill off.
it is unusual for LED lighting to fail though not unheard of. i'm thinking that it
may be the ballast. one way to test is to swap the panel out with the other side
and plug it in (no need to install) and see if it powers on via the other side. if
it does, it may be the ballast. if not, it is likely to be the light module itself
