Transmission/Engine Noise on hard acceleration
Hello all!
I'm taking my 2012 ML350 for a scheduled maintenance in a few days, but I thought I'd ask here and get some feedback before then. So, my problem is when the car is going really slow like under 25 MPH then I want to pick up speed quickly (happens in the freeway during traffic), I can hear a pop noise from the engine as well as feel a jerk forward. I also have the same exact issue when I'm going up a hill and then need to pick up speed fast. The second I push down hard on the gas pedal, the car jerks forward and I hear the pop noise. It seems like the car is having trouble downshifting so I'm a bit worried that it could be the transmission. It's always when the car is really going slow then I need to gas it really hard. Is this a transmission problem or something else? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
