Thinking of CPO ML 250 BT

I put on about 20K miles per year. Currently drive a Cadillac CTS AWD without any issues, but would like to get back to a SUV or Crossover. We owned a ML 320 for 15 years, replaced it about 6 months ago with a GLC300 that my wife drives. Nice vehicle. I would like something a bit larger, and was thinking of the CPO ML diesel. The CPOs that are available are few and far between .

We only replaced the ML320 due to multiple issues that developed over time, yet 15 years was not a bad run (we had a Volvo wagon for her that lasted over 18).

The dealer that sold us the ML320 new has a 2013 ML gas that is also somewhat tempting.

This is a "want" not a "need", so I am in no hurry. Getting diesel fuel is not an issue, the station closest to my house sells it.
To the 250 owners out there, would you buy it again?

I have a 2015 ML250 that I bought new and now have 25,000 miles on it. The vehicle has been trouble free, drives very well, certainly has enough power, and is extremely comfortable for long distance trips. Around town it gets 25mpg and usually 32+ on longer trips.

I am a retired Cadillac dealer and this is my primary driver. I have an E350 for my wife to drive. My research indicates there will be a variety of potential maintenance problems related to oil leaks and the emission systems that can be relatively expensive at higher miles. Regular maintenance and more frequent oil changes can theoretically moderate those problems.

Should you have any specific questions, feel free to contact me.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. There just aren't too many ML250s available as a CPO, and none of course new now.

We had oil consumption (and other) issues with the ML 320 but as I said, it had a pretty good 15 year run.

on GLC300 #2, a 2022 CPO purchased b/c I really dislike the X254's UI (GL350 before those)
Fascinating. Retired Cadillac dealer principal now buys only Benz as caddy hits its stride - maybe you're one of the unfortunatewho lost a franchise in '09?

CTS is one of my favorite cars that I never owned, I put several thousands of miles over a few years on the family member's and loved every single inch of driving that car, it suited my idea of how performance sedans that size and market position could feel from a driver centric perspective. It had the turbo four and all wheel drive. Spritely precise and light feeling, tremendously fun. Efficient too.
Enough about me.

Good luck on your MB quest.

Thanks. I like the CTS, not one service issue over 40k miles so far. I just prefer the height of a SUV or crossover, especially with rain/precip days commuting on the DC beltway.

Just curious if caddy that reliable why not XT5?
Good looking car.

I looked at the XT5, yet given that they are new, there are none near me available as a CPO, only courtesy loaners with some higher price tags. My last SRX (the body style that preceded the last version of the SRX) was not as reliable, becoming a forced trade since the repair costs at the end were too high, before it even hit 80K miles. Maybe I should put 22 inch tires on my CTS ;-)
