2015 Mercedes-Benz ML 350
firmware update and map update
Good Afternoon,
I got my 2015 Bens ML 350 in April 2015, today I just joined this forum, and also I took my car to the dealer have the map updated, but when i asked the service adviser about any firmware update, he said base on customer's issue specific, then they will take look at specific firmware to specific part of the car.
My question to him, is my voice command is not working very well, so I have never used it, any update on that, he said that is part of map update, is that true?
also when I plug my iphone 6s to the usb port, it says device unknown, I wish I can play sound through the cable other then via blue tooth. is that something I dont know how to use or it is about firmware update? for the new functionality?

I did see few people mentioned that you have to have issue to get firmware updated. I am going to pick up the car now, I will ask them why when I plug my iphoone 6s into usb port, it says unavailable or unknown, I will keep everyone updated.

Just back from dealer, apparently, there are two port in the center compartment box, one is bmw special cable, when I connect to this cable with my iphone 6S, it can connect to media option and now can play the music, but if I just connect to the other usb port, it can't recognized the iPhone. Did it make sense? any advice?

My gf's iPhone 6S doesn't work thru the MB cables, neither does my Samsung S8+. Only thru the USB port, which sucks 'cause you can't see the menu properly etc..

How can I find out the software version installed on my vehicle and whether it is latest update or not?
I can see lots of information on Vehicle data menu but can't work out which software is installed.
