Question Question about switching tires and rims

I had a 2011 GL350 which had OEM tires - 275/50R20. I switched those out but never sold the OEM tires. The dimension of the rims are
  • 20" Diameter
  • 8.5" Width
  • 56 positive offset
  • 5x112 bolt pattern

Now I have a 2014 ML350 which has OEM AMG 20" tires - 265/45R20. The dimension of the rims are
  • 20" Diameter
  • 9" Width
  • 57 positive offset
  • 5x112 bolt pattern
QUESTION - Can I use the GL rims on m ML? If so, what size tires?

Thanks in advance for your advise!

Wheels

I have a 2015 ML350 which came with 19 x 8 1/2 wide rims with 255/50-19 wheels. I just changed wheels and put on wheels from a 2014 GL which are 19 X 9 I put the same size tires on the car i.e. 255/50-19. No problems so far, after have driven approx 600 miles. I wanted to up the tire size to 265/50-19 but the selection was limited and cost more. What you can do is go to one of the tire manufactures site and they tell you what width rims fit particular size tires. I went to Toyo site and saw it said for a 255/50-19 tires you could use widths from 8 to 9 1/2 half.

What I have noticed is and not sure if its the new tires or rim size, is the car seems to ride rougher according to my wife. Also, the car came with Bridgeston and had over 40,000 miles i.e. original tires and I put Michelin Defender LTX. I expect the new tire is just a little firmer than the worn Bridgeston Duellers.

keep us posted on what you find out
