Problem or plain ole turbo lag?

Hey guys, just wondering if our newly-acquired BT is running normally. From a dead-stop, agressive use of the accelerator produces less-than-stellar engine response. When the rpm's get past +/- 2k, then she hauls a$$.
I know turbos suffer from lag, but I thought that being a diesel, this wouldn't be as bad. Opinions?

Normal turbo lag for the Bluetec ML.

Not happy with your answer, but the truth isn't always fun to face. Thanks!

I own one and occasionally get to drive three different BT MLs in addition to mine, and they are all very sluggish until the turbo fully spools up from any speed. I now routinely downshift with the left paddle without even thinking before I try to initiate a pass on a two-lane road. Fortunately, that is about the only real gripe I can think of, and the other pros of the diesel greatly outweigh the cons.
