Pics of 20'' rims with 275/45/20 tyres
I'm thinking of replacing my summer tyres for next season with 275/45/20 instead of the OEM 265/45/20 Pirellis that the car came with which are almost impossible to be balanced and together with this look a bit skiny on the vehicle in my opinion. What I'm bothered is if the 275 tyres look very fat being watched from the side because of the slightly higher profile. The other option could be 285/40/20 but the 9 J rim will be too narrow for a 285 tyre. If anybody has this tyre set on his vehicle, please post a pic to have an idea how it looks. Thanks in advance!

I'm having my wheels redone in dark grey with light metal flake and clear coat. I'll have the car back this afternoon and will put a pic up. It will be very hard to see the increased wheel size.

I wish I could see this a month ago when I bought new set of Pirellis Scorpion newer had any issues and balanced ok.
I been told, with 275 odometer will be off a little. Not sure if that is true but 275 looks cool.

May I ask you to post a pic from behind to have an idea how much are the 275 tyres protruding out of the rim lip since these are 9J rims and some tyre shops claim that it's better to go with 9.5 or 10J rims for the 275 size, unfortunately MB doesn't have such for our vehicles and I don't want to put after market wheels on mine.
I think the look depends a lot on the rim design, that's how mine look with 265/45 and the visual impression for me is their sidewall is quite smaller, although yours look pretty cool with the grey rims!

Keep in mind you're only moving up 10 millimeters in total width. (That's less than a half an inch.) According to TireRack.com that size tire should be on an 8.5"-10" wide wheel. In fact, their specs are done using a 9" wheel. The speedo will be slightly off since the circumference of the tire will only increase by about an inch. Don't worry about it! At 60 mph you'll actually be going 60.6 mph.
