2013 ML 350 Keyless Go Not working

2013 ML 350 Keyless Go Not working
My keyless go button does nothing when I push it to start car. Both FOBs are recognized and work properly. I did change batteries in both FOB's as well. The button looks good with no obvious damage. The car worked great one time and did nothing the next time used.Took to local MB dealer and they don't know what the problem is. They want me to commit to hours(4-5 possibly...they say) of diagnosis at $150 plus an hour just to tell me what's wrong with it. Just doesn't seem right to me. By the way I am 60 days out of warranty with 48,500 miles on it. Anybody have any ideas of something to try? I sure don't want to invest 700-800 dollars just to find out the repair costs are not worth doing. Thanks

I didn't have to do that the first time I replaced the batteries on both fobs back in April, but the button had been popped off for quite a awhile prior (and no "battery to be replaced" message). But now I get the battery message on one of the two fobs and replacing the battery did nothing. I'll try the pop the button trick and report back in 2 weeks, I'm down south now.
