TPMS Reset
I picked up a set of 20" wheels and tires for my ML. I needed new tires anyway and these were only $900 with 500 miles. They were take offs from a 2017 GLS450. They look and feel great, but i'm getting the "no sensors installed."
The seller claims the TPM sensors are there. Do I just need to do a reset or does the dealer need to wave the magic wand over it?

Er - no. The W166 will pick up the new sensors automatically. If it doesn't and TPMS sensors are in fact installed, it's because they are they wrong sensors for the car, not because you need to reset or reprogram anything.

i cannot speak for the MB, but my subarus do need to have the system reset. and the swapped set needs to be away from the car when it is done. although my dealer has gotten better at remembering that (since i always remind them) it will occasionally happen that someone took a shortcut (like 3 weeks ago). if the MB's auto re-initiate, that's definitely a plus. good luck, ron

I agree. There are different frequencies available. Buying the incorrect frequency will give you no function. The correct mHz is 433.

I asked an "expert" if the TPMS are the same for 2017 vs. 2013 and the response was yes. I bought the Autel MaxiTPMS TS401 in hopes to perform the relearn procedure. We'll see....
