Width of ML 550 with the mirrors folded
Hello,
I am looking to buy an 2012-2015 ML 550 that has the folding mirror option. I have a below average garage width and have a space of 84" between the garage door lifting arms as clearance which are at the same height as the mirrors. I cant seem to find any info out there from Folded Mirror edge to folded mirror edge. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance............Geno

Someone else told me their manual stated 77" folded.
Yoww that would be tight!!
May I ask how you measured?

I opened the windows, folded the mirrors in, and ran a tape measure between them. A little difficult doing it alone so I just checked again. Measured glass to glass..a full 65" + glass to outer edge of folded mirror is at lest 7"+ on each side. Could say 79"+. Definitly no less than 79" .

As long as you judge distances based on clearance between the drivers' side mirror and the door frame, you'll be ok.
But yeah, this is one of those examples where "tight" is a bad thing....

I'll take that inch if it exists. Unfortunately this is the garage I would have to store it in. I wouldn't want to spend the money and then leave it outside 24/7 to let the UV rays and elements turn it to trash over the years. I don't want to buy the truck to find out I cannot park it inside. That's why I am doing my do diligence. I need to rent one or find a local member willing to come over the house to do the real world test. Thanks all for responding thus far!
