Soot Particulate sensor

Check engine light came on....dealer says its the "Soot Particulate Sensor". $855 to replace! yikes. Don't understand why this isn't part of the separate emissions warranty? Anybody have an opinion?

How many miles on your ride? Did you get a quote from an independent shop, or just the stealership?

65k miles. Quote is from dealer, since yesterday they offered me a 20% discount since I argued that it should be part of emissions warranty.

I'd check the fine-print of your emissions warranty. I have a feeling your dealer is trying to screw you over. Charge you AND get compensated by MB. I think you're right, it should be covered.

I had the particulate sensor replace by dealer as emission related and had it replaced under warranty on July 11, 2019 at MBZ dealer in Lake Forest, CA. My car is 2014 e250 Blue Tech..
