CPO vs. Sorta CPO

CPO vs. Sorta CPO
Hey everyone,
New guy here – just wanna say this forum has been an awesome resource during my MB procrastination/search, finally ready to pull the trigger. So thank you!
I'm leaning toward a '15 ML350 CPO w/ 51k. It has everything, including the designo interior, which is rad, but more of a bonus (I'd prefer MB tex as I've got a dog). However, I found a '14 ML that was CPO'D, driven for a year and then traded in to a non MB dealership. Would have half a year of CPO warranty left if not for only Private Party transfers. It has up to date maintenance, looks to be very well cared for, etc.
Honestly I'm leaning toward the CPO, but it's hard not to consider the possibly of getting almost the same car for thousands of dollars less. My questions is, all things considered, is there a strong chance I'll spend that much in repairs in one year? I'm not sure, and wanted to hear from some people with experience.

You have to remember you can extend the cpo warranty; which in your case will be until 2022 for the cpo
For the cpo ish one, if it hasn't been extended you could only extend it for another 2 years..so 2020?

is it possible to extend the sorta CPO-ish one? The MB CSR I spoke to only said that the warranty on that car was no longer valid, considering it was traded in to a non-MB dealer (even though it should have another 7 months remaining).

It might be the case, but I would go check by the vin at the dealership or service dept to be sure.

You can also try private party or non mb dealership and look for 15+ ml and xtend the factory warranty elw yourself too. That would get you 7 years from in-service date and 75k or 100k depending on what you choose.
Carmax is also great with the maxcare warranty. It has longer coverage limits that start from purchase and it's accepted at mb dealerships. That's where I have bought our gl and it works out great so far.
