High mileage W166 common issues
Hi all, I am considering the purchase of a high mileage (over 100k) 2013 ML350 4Matic. What are some common issues to expect based on people's experiences? I'm a former high mileage R171 AMG owner and have a SDS diagnoser and plan to do some work myself with others at a local independent shop. I'm thinking at this age shocks, rotors, drive belt etc are potential replacements. Could decide to go with a 2015 CPO for about $20k more if the 2013 will exceed over $5k in expected work vs the 2015. We expect to drive it regularly but only around 6k miles/year. Thanks I'm under contract now and will be driving back from Chicago to Seattle with the car. Carfax checks out and I'm buying it from the MB dealer who serviced the car so I've asked them to do some additional checks on Monday. I bought my SLK 55 in 2010 in Arkansas and on the way back to Seattle it broke down twice but never had any problems after that until it was totalled. It had only 20K miles so sometimes it hard to say but I just wanted to see if there were any well known issues like with BMW's timing chains on the ML.
