Past winter I had low coolant light, went to dealer and got the whole gallon for $29, probably could add just distilled water.

However, if the color is anything but pure blue, chances are some "generic" green coolant was added at some point and you need get it completely flushed and changed ASAP before it causes more damage. The Mercedes coolant is designed so that it does not react with the various materials and components in the cooling system, whereas generic coolant will definitely cause oxidation and premature failure in a bunch of components (seals, gaskets, water pump, radiator etc). You don't want it eating through your rad or creating solid deposits which then start floating around... get it changed.
