Hello All,
I am about purchase Star Diagnostic device for troubleshout some codes and eventually small programming. I still have older version on Chinese replica and it is working perfectly fine for scanning cars up to Year 2012. My current car is 2014.
Could you please recommend me some device bases on your experience ? Checked Aliexpress and there is so many and I am looking for good one.

Are you saying that scanning device (my is big grey box - with serial port connection) could be configured to work with newer software. I know that Mercedes in one point does require live connection to their server and do you know is it related to my car (2014 ML350).
Is your setup is running as VM Ware or direct installation on laptop ? I found a few places where you can buy hard drive only but I am not sure how it does work due to you cannot plug & play to any laptop. Many years ago Dell was standard but it seems Lenovo T4xx is new standard
If it is possible, I can explore that route first ...The only problem is that you don't have many sites where you can get some support if you get in trouble
