At what mileage did you change the transmission fluid ? How about the differential fluid? Are there are any service coupons posted— if so please post the link.

Did the transmission at 40K and the transfer case and differentials at 50K. Plan to keep the W166 long-term and don't believe in the recommended change intervals, unless you goal is to just have it last until the warranty expires.

FCPEuro blog post

FCPEuro just did DIY blog post on 722.9.

https://blog.fcpeuro.com/mercedes-be...-modifications

They recommend changing 722.9 7gtronic plus (code A89 later version of 7g) transmission fluid at 77,000 miles. That's basically same the recommendation as in my 2015 ML350 base v6 owner's manual, which is 77,500 miles. Interestingly, MB recommends changing transmission fluid at 60,000 miles for 2016 GLE base v6 even though, based on the specs I've seen (same engine, same transmission, same curb weight) it looks like the same car with redesigned grill and lights! I asked the dealer should I follow the 2016 GLE recommendation and get transmission fluid changed at 60k miles? He said no, follow owner's manual.

WHAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION ABOUT FCPEURO BLOG POST IS THIS: If you have a 7gtronic plus transmission (serviced with 236.15 blue fluid), they recommend using the 235.17 gold fluid (the transmission fluid for latest 9gtronic 9 speed transmission) on the latest 7gtronic plus. Essentially, FCPEuro is saying dump 235.15 fluids and make 235.17 backwards compatible to 235.15 (blue fluid), but not to 235.14 (red fluid).

What do you guys make of this? Re differential fluid change, a mod named Glyn, who seemed to know what he was doing, recommended differential oil changes every 100,000. And he said even 100,000 fluid change intervals was probably overkill for the differential.
