Combination filter vs dust filter?

What are the differences between combination and dust filters, are they referring to the cabin filter? how often should cabin filters be changed? Can someone provide with services that must be completed mileage wise:: 2012 Mercedes ML350 4Matic 3.5L V6

engine oil/filter--- every 10k
brake fluid--
air filter
cabin filter
spark plugs
transmission fluid and filter change
differential fluid change
etc

Everyone has a different philosophy. Some things, I go by manufacturer’s recommendation, some are personal preference. It also depends on how much you drive, the climate and the environment.

Here’s my take for 2013 model:

engine oil/filter--- every 10k
brake fluid-- 20k
air filter - 20-30k
cabin filter - 20-30k
spark plugs - 65k
transmission fluid and filter change - 65k (earlier for newer models)
Coolant - 65k

If you have 4Matic, get the 4Matic service (front/rear differential fluid change) - 65k

etc

2010 Mercedes GL450; 2000 Mercedes ML55 AMG; 2016 VW GLI SEL Stick!!!
I prefer the Mann ferocious plus fp26462 filter.
The combo vs dust is just a combination charcoal vs a plain dust filter
The frecious plus filter is much better than the charcoal filters or the mb branded one.

I change the cabin filter every year.
Airbfilter every 1.5-2 years
oil chnages 5-7.5k miles
brake fluid every 2 years
tranny every 4 years or 40k

Thanks for the replies... by the way how many cabin filters are there total? Is it 3? believe there are 2 located inside and 1 accessed from the engine compartment, is that right? Also what is the part number for the air filter?

Dust filter is the Pre Filter before the Combo filters. It just keeps the bigger stuff out. Combo filters are the finer ones that have charcoal imbedded for odor control. 3 filters total, all accessed from engine bay.
