Slow cranking

2013 ML350 started slow cranking during start for a while. Than just one day did not start. I have changed a main battery and it resolved an issue immediately. However several weeks later it show slow cranking during start appeared again. Later it was not starting through push button but started by key. Now it starts fine through push button, no slow cranking. Looks like the issue is intermittent. But CEL is on and my basic OBDII reader show P1CCF code.
I have googled the code and simptoms and there are a bunch of possible issues: fuel pump, fuel injector, several sensors, fuel harness, negative cable, spark plugs etc.
Not sure what to start with. I fill the car with midgrade gas. Plan to fill with premium with cleaning adjectives (I think Shell or Chevron sell such).
Maybe my basic OBDII reader (Actron CP9125) just miss something? Is Autel AP200(HT200) better and catch more information?
Any recomendation what to do?

Check the ground connections underhood for corrosion.

Hi. Did you get this resolved. I just bought a 2014ML63AMG and have this long crank, only when the engine is warm, the P1CCF code will appear if I don’t do my workaround.

My workaround is stopping at each key position, 1 then 2 finally break and start. Or pressing the start button 3 times, 2 without the break pedal. Sounds like priming the fuel pump because at pos2 I will hear the low pressure fuel pump pushes fuel. Works every single time. some longer crank than others but starts. Both battery replaced. Camshaft sensors and solenoid replaced. Gas always Shell. Once engine started -no drivability issues even with spirited driving.

thanks
