Massive coolant leak after EGR attempt replacement
Yesterday I replaced the PCV and both seals for turbo inlet, and I cleaned the black box (resonator).
Also, I’ve tried to clean the EGR valve and I failed.
1 fail. I couldn’t manage to take off the EGR valve. It got stuck so hard that I renounced.
2 fail. After I put everything back I’ve experienced a massive coolant leak, and on the dashboard appeared a message “CHECK COOLANT LEVEL”.
3. I’ve got the following scan codes:
P20BA, P20E8 besides those two codes that are related to the EGR valve P0404 and P0405.
I took a look underneath the car but I couldn’t figure it out the leakage cause.
Dirty resonator
Leakage!!
Please give me some advice or any tips how those events are interrelated.
Not sure what might have happened, but, the reasonable thing is to go over all your work!!! Something possibly got pinched, or loosened, and then forgotten. Happens a lot when involved with doing a job for the 1st time, and things don't always get 'buttoned up' right. Clean everything up and and have someone start the engine.... hopefully the leak will express itself and it's just a split hose, or other minor detail. GL...

To get the valve out, you might have to bang on it a couple of times with a chisel and hammer, or similar. It was during that banging that the leak started for me. It wasn't even a leak... more like a gush of coolant!!! Sort of like it started as soon as the EGR valve began to get free. It stopped on it's own after draining a ton of coolant, and I went ahead and cleaned the EGR valve, reinstalled it, and topped up my coolant and all is well. No more coolant leak. But I'm still a bit paranoid because I'm guessing there is an O ring for that hose that might have come loose or broken. Either way, I'm going to observe to see what happens before doing anything else.
