Maybe this is me being too picky but i can not stand the space between the top of the grill and hood on the GT Panamericana grill for my 2013 ML63. The fact that its not flush makes it look so cheap to me. So much so that ive tried to reach out to Chinese manufactures in an attempt to find out why these were designed this way and possibly have a revised version made. The hood latch would still be accessible even if the grill was extended and the space was full. There are other models like the GLS and GLE where the Panamericana GT grill is full and flush with top and bottom. I believe i read on another thread that someone was able to trim down a 2015 grill and make it fit a 12-14 w166. I recently received a 2015 GLE grill and will attempt the same. Below is an example of what im talking ablout. Clearly the top pic is a newer model and you can see how flush the grill sits. The bottom pic is of a 12-14 w166 of which has the gaps and looks much worse. Especially in chrome.

This is a nice looking Grill that Carlsson use to make for the W166, for both Distronic and non Distronic vehicles...I think I might have one or two left over without Distronic, or one and one...can't remember, but if anyone is interested in either PM me and I will check, just need to pull from the rafters in my garage. Will sell pretty cheap if anyone is still looking.
So I've almost completed my project of fitting a 2015+ w166 Panamericana Gt grill in a my 2013 ML63 (12-14). Will be making my final adjustments soon. Some of you might have seen my previous post in this thread about how I disliked the look of the Panamericana grill intended for this 12-14 application. There were some adjustments that had to be made in order for it to fit but it CAN be done. You will need to trim at the bottom and side mounting points along with a few other somewhat tedious task. It can all be done with some zip ties, plastic epoxy and a Dremel. I also added the mesh backing which was the most involved part of this project.

TBH, this is the grille I'd really like to find for my W166 (below). I put a GTR/Panamericana grille on my C253 because the GLC63 model has that grille. I like mods that replicate an actually available model, but I certainly respect the many members who have fitted these replica grilles on their cars, "different strokes..." and all. I remember once going off on a rant about the "V-shaped" grilles vs. the "A-shaped", a/k/a the smile vs. the frown. IMHO the GTR/Panamericana grille goes with the frown.
