Parking Brake light
I have a 2013 Mercedes ML350 and I’m getting the message “Parking Brake See Operator Manual” and the yellow parking brake light stays on also. I stopped using my parking brake because the left rear brake was getting stuck and won’t disengage so I would have to play with the parking brake switch to get it to unlock.
I replaced the parking Brake switch but the lights still stay on. I did a computer diagnostic and got 2 faults with the Parking Brake.
1. The position of component Electric Parking Brake is Implausible
2. The left brake caliper is faulty. An open circuit exists.
Can someone tell me if this could be a faulty sensor on the left rear wheel or something else?

Given the fact that you mention "left rear brake was getting stuck and won't disengage..." I would suggest looking at the left rear parking brake actuator. Sounds like it's stuck or broken inside. You'll need to "retract" the parking brake like when you need to replace brake pads. Then remove the left rear caliper. Ideally you should disconnect the caliper from the brake line so you can easily dismount the brake actuator from the caliper. But you could still do the same process on the vehicle just harder to hold/keep the caliper stationary.

Did the actuator fix your problem? I have a 2012 ML350 with the same issue. The motor runs but will not retract the parking brake. I took the caliper off and manually screwed the shaft in and the piston closes but when I unscrew the shaft on the caliper, the piston does not retract. Seeing as how the actuator motor is running but not retracting I'm assuming that the problem is mechanical inside the caliper. Do you guys think I'm on the right track?
