2014 ML550 Multiple Error Messages and No Start

Hi all,
I own a 2014 ML550 and have multiple messages on the message center and a veritable Christmas tree of lights on the dash. Yesterday, I got stuck in a snow drift and dug myself out. Everything worked fine before and after that for the rest of the day. I started and stopped it a few times in my regular driving.

Today, I started the vehicle and the following messages came up:
- Vehicle Not in P Risk of vehicle rolling away (in red)
- Do Not Shift Gears (in red)
- Parking Brake, See Operator's Manual (in red)
- Run Flat Indicator Inoperative
- Lane Keeping Assist Inoperative
- SRS Malfunction, Service Required
- EBD, ABS (symbol), Traction Control (symbol) Inoperative, See Operator's Manual
- Ride Height Adjustment (symbol) Malfunction
- Active Headlamps Inoperative
- Blind Spot Assist Inoperative

Get the picture?! This is pretty much a total electronics system failure. The vehicle would not allow me to shift into gear.
I stopped the vehicle and disconnected the battery. Now, the vehicle will not start at all. The steering wheel is not locked so the vehicle must believe it is in gear. All the warnings still appear.
Any thoughts?
Thanks. Alf.

I'd say check your grounds. That's way too much ***** to go wrong at the same time and DC voltage causes all sorts of weird crap when there's a bad ground present.

Has the battery been replaced yet. A weak battery can cause this, so I’ve read.

Check the blind spot sensor

I had the exact same thing happen two months ago. Turned out to be the blind spot sensor on the right side in the rear bumper had failed and the connection to its wiring harness was corroded. Try unplugging that sensor and see if that does anything.

Did you get this sorted?

Hey Alf,

Did you get this sorted? I have the exact same issue and not a clue where to start.

My issue is shown in this video and I’m fairly certain it’s the same thing.

Any advice is appreciated!

Cheers,
George
