Hello Guys,
I live in South Texas and have serious problems with the A/C smell in my ML350 W166. When I first start the A/C it stinks like a dirty sock. All the three filters are changed few months ago but the smell does not disappear.
Here is what I did :
1. Kool-It Evaporator and Heater Foam Cleaner - I injected the product into the A/C vents. This didn't have a long lasting effect.
2. I tried to spray with Clorox inside the vents - it still doesn't have any effect.
3. The 3 A/C filters (air filters and dust filter) are relatively new.
So my question to you is : What are the steps/best practices to clean up the evaporator and A/C fan or to treat the smell at the source
Do I have to remove the glove box to get to the fan and spray with Clorox ?
How often do I have to do it since i live in Houston where humidity and heat cause the build up of mold ?
Please advice on best practices to solve this annoying problem. What would be my best option to fix this ?

There is a class action settlement for this. Search this site.
If you are included in the covered vehicles, you will be entitled to reimbursement of costs you have incurred to treat this situation. Or you will be entitled to a "treatment" which helps, but does not solve, the situation. Mercedes does not have a permanent corrective action for this, only a "treatment".

What is the treatment? My nose has been blocked all the time since I got the car 3 years ago. Does the S class 2015 has the same issue ?
