ML350 2014 codes P0087 & P0627

I have a 2014 ml350. 93,000 miles. Never had a single issue. I had to go through some water to get My son to the doctor Thursday. It wasn’t deep just some standing water. We had a bad storm. I got to the doctor office and as soon as I parked my car cut off. It started back but engine light was on. When Wegot done I made it to the Chevrolet dealership about 1 mile away with it for them to check the codes. I had to go through more water to get in there because the road was flooded. They got the codes and cleared them and told me to drive it but they didn’t know what was wrong that it may just need to dry out. It’s showing codes P0087 & P0627. I only made it to the stop light about a mile away and It cut off and when I tried to crank it back it sounded really bad and cut right back off then it would only try to turn over. I called our neighbor who has a wrecker and when they got there it cranked and he drove it on the rollback. He took it to his shop and they said it cranked yesterday afternoon and they drove it in the lift and it cranked back and they drove it off. They let it run an hour. Then we went and got in it to take it home and it wouldn’t start. Finally it cranked and We started home with it which was only a mile away. It cut off right before we got to the house and it started back and we got it home. Any ideas? We are in a rural area with the nearest dealership an hour and a half away.

Those are fuel pump codes. Is your vehicle gasoline or diesel? How deep exactly were the multiple water incidents?

It is gas. The water wasn’t up to the undercarriage. I’m thinking it splashed.

Fuel pump codes aren’t common with W166 gasoline engines. Have you tried to clear the codes and see if they return?

I had a very similar problem and found this thread while search for the sam codes. I also have a 2014 ML350. I didn't this the water was related until I was checking the fuel pump control module. I found water in the spare tire area, and the cable harness going to the fuel pump controller was wet. The water wicked along the wires to the plug. The feet of the controller showed signs of arcing on the underside. Everything worked fine after replacing the controller. Now I need to find a leak thread!
