Lower Fuel Mileage on 2015 ML250D
Hi, have had a 2015 ML 250D since new. 112K miles on it now. Great vehicle. No problems. Typically get lower 30's MPG on the highway. Last few times I've driven it, it's been more like 28 - 29 MPG. A huge difference. Runs and sounds the same as always. What can I look at? Always maintained by the book. We've driven it a lot less since March, given we've been working from home.

what I do though is add a lubricity additive because the diesel in North America is not as well regulated as in Europe. In Europe the diesel engines last way longer and don’t gunk up because of what is added. In North America you can check to see if Top Tier Diesel is offered at any service stations in your area. This diesel has additives that help clean the engine and you will see a higher fuel efficiency as a result. If you Google YouTube for discussion on additives there are some great discussions.
