Front Crankshaft Seal Oil Leak - 2012 ML350 Bluetec

2012 ML350 Bluetec - W166

I have an oil leak coming from my crankshaft seal and have been putting off replacing it, but nows the time - are there any special tools needed to remove the pulley to access it? Any tips on removing/installing the seal?

Thank you so much in advance!

David

Are you sure that the oil came from Crankshaft Seal?

Seems to be - as its spitting out from behind it. Unless theres somewhere else I should look that could be the culprit?

My advice is to read more, here on forum, about the oil cooler, for engine M642.

I too would first make sure it is not from the oil cooler seals. Crankshaft seals are not known to fail, although it the oil wasn't changed regularly and it was full of diesel all bets are off.
