Brake fluid flush procedure

Does anyone have the correct procedure to flush the brake fluid? I have a 2014 ML350 and did this using a motiv power bleeder. I did the rear passenger, rear driver, front passenger and finally front driver. After I was done getting all the old fluid out (replaced with MB fluid), i started the car up and the idle was crappy and it threw a CE light. I turned the car off, turned it back on and everything is now fine. I took the car for a ride and the brakes bite very well. Im assuming the CE isnt related to the brakes but perhaps it was and I was supposed to do something with the ABS module during this process?

Nothing special needed to be done with the ABS. Without knowing what code popped up with the CE, no way anyone here can help you. So start by getting the CE code first.

Glad to hear nothing special needed to be done. Now that the CE went away, is it gone or still stored where I can get access to it?

@Ironfistt You can either take it to Autozone and have them give you a free of the CEL scan or buy your own OBDII dongle and connect it to your Android Phone with some software on the phone to scan the code. Your last choice is to pay the dealer $100 to scan the code. Then the ultimate choice is do nothing and keep driving it until it comes back on again.

thanks, I know how to check the cel… what I meant was, since it’s no longer on, is the code still stored in the ecu for retrieval or completely cleared? If it’s saved, I’ll go hunt down my elm scanner or borrow my buddys foxwell.

It's depends on what tool you use to scan, but likely still there.

I recently did a brake fluid flush on my ‘13 exactly how you did it. No cel for me upon startup. Let us know what the code was when you get it scanned.

i scanned with the elm and torque light, no codes came up, pending, historic or logged. I also borrowed my buddies foxwell and same results, no codes. Car has been running great since that first restart so I guess I won’t worry about it for now.
