I just did this on my wife's 2014 ML. I used this vid which was supplied to me by another member here "Chassis". I had no problem at all cutting the carpet with a Stanley knife. I bought a Duracell SLAA12-1.3F from Batteries +. In stock at my local store. I had to build up around all 4 sides of the battery since it was slightly smaller than the oem. The leads are switched but they held fine on the new batt. I didn't mind since it was half the price of an oem. I used the loop part of Velcro to do the build up. In the vid you can barely see the 10mm bolt that holds the retaining bracket. Easy out, but you're blind putting it back in. But I did it (with the scrape marks on my arm to prove it). BTW my dealer wanted $285.00 to replace the one in my '14 GL which I did at the same time. Nope....
