Airmatiic Malfunction compressed air sensor. W166

"malfunction " came up on the dash , was able to acknowledge (OK) a few times until the suspension deflated a few days later.
MB11 Icarsoft analyser displayed C15561C "the compressed air sensor for system pressure has a malfunction the voltage is outside the permissible range".
Air Suspension Valve Block 2123200358 ($125 AU) was ordered and installed , new fault came up suggesting an issue with the compressor.
Air Suspension Compressor a1663200204 ($269 AU) was ordered and installed, system ran up perfectly.

to replace the components I followed youtube
the most difficult part was removing the T25 torx screws from the back of the valve block (patience and persistence)
replacing the compressor was very easy (2 plugs, 1 pipe and 3 bolts)
whole task should only take a couple of hours if the parts are available (if not less if experienced)

NOTE. make sure when ordering 2123200358 get the one that suits your car (I initially ordered 2123200358 which suited the previous model assuming ordering the same part number the part would work on my 2014 W166)

Faulty valve block under front right wheel arch, mounted above the compressor

getting in behind the valve block with a Torx T25

Further information, I believe the compressor may have expired (insufficient pressure/ flow) due to the failure of the Air Suspension Valve Block 2123200358 a long time ago (2016)
I noticed at about 20000 Kms on the odometer that the relief valve was quite audible when the car was shut down (i just figured i hadn't noticed it previously) and now a replacement (aftermarket) compressor is fitted i notice the relief valve is barely noticeable when the vehicle is shut down. I suggest the compressor at 20000km was delivering very high pressure to the valve block which may have been partially blocked/ faulty and at 80000kms the compressor was worn out. (this is all speculative but plausible reason why both components had failed and bot required replacement)

Too many german broads
So best to replace compressor, block, and relay all at once?

Hi , Not necessarily, If i had only a fault with the valve body, then i would have only replaced the valve body, but due to my valve body being faulty for such a long time causing the compressor to wear out "before time", I had to replace both. Not sure where the relay is located and did not replace it.

2014 CLS 550, does anyone know EXACTLY where the RELAY for the compressor is located ? My fuse block was blown, its a big deal, tore it apart and fuse to compressor was blown... trying to figure out why. Repair shop replaced air bags (2k), which I dont think needed, only 60 k on car... eventually replaced fuse block... it seems to me the relay had to stay open or closed to blow the fuse... mechanic said relay was hidden behind the left drivers side fender... above the wheel well... no access... thats why I need exact location... thanks
