ash tray

Can someone confirm how the ashtray (by the front cup holders next to the cigarette lighter) in the 2014 ml350 comes out. I assumed it simply slides up but I cant the damn thing to budge. I even slid a screwdriver under the sides and tried to pry it up with no luck

Open the lid first. Then push the whole assembly toward the drivers side and pull it up. There's a small spring clip holding it in. Do the reverse to put it back.

Thanks! Thats my issue then, theres a coin jammed down between the ashtray and the housing on the drivers side. Im unable to push it all towards the drivers side. Ill have to keep playing around with it to try and get it out

After lots of patience and using a skinny pick set, I was finally able to dig out all the coins jammed into the drivers side of the ash tray and it came right out. Thanks again!
