2015 ML 350 BLUETEC GARAGE OPENER
Hey guys! I hope you're doing well! This is my first post so I'll keep it short.
I have recently purchased a 2015 ML 350 BLUETEC, US VERSION and I noticed it had a garage door opener in the rear view mirror, not sure if European versions do have it as well. I watched some YouTube videos on how to program this stuff but in almost all of them they do have access to the garage panel in their private garage. I do live in a residential building and I'm not sure if I can access (at least that easily) the garage panel. My question is, can it also be done just by being inside of the car and not having access on the garage panel?
Thanks in advance.
PS. I haven't received the car yet and I'm very curious about this stuff, so I haven't really tried it.

No, you must be able to activate the door control unit to put it into “learn” mode. You cannot achieve your goal from the car alone.
Call your building or garage property manager to ask if this is possible. Consider the scenario if you stop living there or using the garage, but retain access to it through your vehicle door opener. Not what the management/landlord wants.

Building access control systems use a different technology and coding as they need to keep track of hundreds of different fobs / vehicles, which the built-in garage door openers in the vast majority of cars do not support. If you live in a house with a two or three door garage the system works fine, but not with the access control systems used in buildings.

All depends on your building's opener and how old it is. Newer models, as mentioned above, need to be put in learning mode (aka read the section in manual about "Rolling Codes") which you may not be able to do. Old buildings with old openers, you're fine. This is speculative until you tell us more specifics.

Hey guys! I checked the garage panel and it seems old and indeed not functional with the Mercedes Garage Door Opener system since it didn't have any learn buttons. It only had 3 options: "Open, Close and Stop". It disappoints me a bit since the building is not even one year old and should have been updated with the latest tech but anyway I guess I'll have to live without the Garage Door Opener.
