Ignition Coil
Why does some brand have specific coils for cylinder 1, 2, 4 and 6 and a different coil for cylinder 3 and 5? I'm getting P0306 and planning to change plugs and coils since I don't know if the last owner changed it.

Buy only MB OEM coils from a dealer. Same statement for spark plugs and any electrical part.
The middle coil on each side (#2, #5) has a silicone heat insulation tube. This is where the heat load is highest from the exhaust manifold.
I replaced all 6 coils using the part number with the silicone tube. It fits, it works, and arguably gives better heat protection to the coils that don't have the insulation from the factory. If it is needed.
Look at the DIY in my signature.

But the brands I've seen are using different part number for cylinders 3 and 5, not cylinders 2 and 5.
