Tips on replacing insulation above oil dip stick

I have a 2012 ML350 Bluetech and the insulation pad above the oil dipstick was damage and is flaking off what looks like bits of foam. I have a replacement pad, but I am stumped as to how to remove the old pad. Does it just pull off? Has anyone done this and do they have any tips on how to remove the old piece and install the new one?

This is a fairly easy replacement. I've taken some pictures to help:

Step 1 - Remove the rubber trim by pulling on it or at the left edge pulling it out

Step 2 - Lift up on the access cover. It is held in with tabs on the back side.

Step 3 - Remove the screw at the top. I believe is it 8mm.

Step 4 - Remove the screw on the front side, I believe this is a T10 or T15. Then the cover will lower and you pull forward on the panel.

To re-install it is the reverse. There is a hook on the bottom that you will slide the new one into before putting the 2 screws back.

BTW - I've got to clean my engine bay, guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Awesome instructions! Thank you.
Speaking of cleaning, what works best for the big V6 cover over the engine - I have trouble getting oil stains off of the silver part.

Yes, easy to remove the bulkhead panel.

Microfiber towel dampened with plain water is best to clean the engine cover. Remove the cover and clean it on the lawn or garage floor for better access.
