I am struggling to find the location of a throttle body on this car. Any help would be appreciated.

It's in the second photo. It is a throttle servo (electric motor, throttle-by-wire).

This place is a joke.
If you can't locate the throttle body in that picture, then you shouldn't be touching anything under the hood, at all.

not a fair statement. if that's the case then none of us would know anything under the hood. we all have to start somewhere.

I don't always agree with E55, but I am afraid he has a valid point on this one. Yes, we all need to start somewhere - but an ML400 is definitely NOT the right place to start in the same way that an F-22 Raptor is not the right place for your first flying lesson. It's a TB that ought to be obvious to anyone that has ever seen one on any car... if you can't even identify it, chances are you're in well over your head.
