replace coolant on 2015 ML350 - Page 2

2015 Mercedes-Benz ML 350

sorry to update, I did see the petcock after 90 degree counter clockwise turn, it did stick out, I also did while counter clockwise turn and pull out motion, nothing come out, I did open the cover on the coolant tank, and also squeezy the top radiator big hose.

Thanks guys, well I used wrench gently keep turning, so did 180 degree turn, remember this is my first time replace with my 2015 ML 350 with 42K Miles, now the coolant slowly came out of the petcock and the little hole, I am afraid of turn more, so patiently wait for finish, could take whole day to finish.

My previous update is around 9am, not it is 2:34 pm and still dipping, approximately got 4 quarts out, on my 2015 ML 350, its coolant capacity is 11 quarts. There is still some left in the coolant tank.

There comes a time when you just have to say f it and pull the lower hose off. A carefully placed tarp will minimize the mess.

it is 6:29pm, it is still dripping, it might has 5 Quarts drained. Since I am not use the car, and since it in garage, let it dripping.....lol.

You DO have the expansion tank cap off to release the vacuum, yes? At this point you could take the top hose off the radiator also.

I am happy to report, after whole day, drain 5 3/4 quarts of old coolant, well it is long, but I am so afraid if turned more then 180 degree, if broke petcock, I saw few people said will need replace the whole radiator, do no know 2015 ML 350 is included.

If you don't feel like you've "gotten it all", it really doesn't matter. Just like a transmission dump/fill. Do it twice if you're that concerned.

people with coolant stuff i drain it i run water to get a little more out fill it with 50/50 done i never had any issues with using regular water i have done that all my car I owe all my cars more than each never had coolant issues. Mercedes don't even do that distilled water stuff
