side mirrors question

Hey, before I apply this "Waterproof Car Blind Spot Side View Mirror Film" on my W166, do our cars already have some kind of treatment on the mirror glass?

Seems like just a hydrophobic-coated film. Why not apply that coating to your glass/mirrors with a ceramic coating? Also wouldn't a film over the glass affect the heated function?
