2017 GLE 400 oil engine wire harness

I know M276 E class (w212) is affected by leaking camshafts or camshaft sensors that let oil permeate engine wiring harness and destroy ECU.

But is 2017 GLE 400, the M276 turbo engine, affected by the same issue?

Looking at one today and plan on buying it. Thanks

ALL M276/M278/M157 suffer from oil in the harness issue, regardless of year of manufacturing. Some will show earlier than others.

I’m not sure many or any 2017- and later cars have reported oil in the harness. These to my knowledge came from the factory with the latest/last part numbers for sensors and magnets which are thought by the community here to be leak free.

Can anyone point to user reports on this site of 2017 or later models with oil in harness?

Here is a similar issue with another engine series, M156 and M159.

I have come to the conclusion it is a maintenance item on these engines, those with camshafts adjustments, like spark plugs or transmission oil. I have NOT experienced it myself, but sister's M276 is an early production one and it has NOT have neither chain tensioner issues nor camshafts adjusters or sensors problems nor have been serviced to proactively change them. I just keep a close eye on it, 125K miles and strong.

My 2014 has not shown issues yet, 92K and going. Let us say, sister's is the baseline softly driven, and mine is driven a bit harder. No red lining but it has seen the 120+ mark occasionally

Fingers crossed those two units remain strong into the future

I tried googling but nothing came up for either E400 (w212) or GLE 400. Hence me asking. On my 2015 E350 I have installed sacrificial pigtails, although none of sensors - just camshaft seals - leaked, and I’m at 100k mi
