90K Suggested Supplemental Service

Closing in on 90K trouble free miles on my 2014 ML350. All services have been performed at local dealer. Replaced both batteries at 70K. We do some long distance driving so am wondering if there are any maintenance items that should be performed between 90K and 100K miles that are not part of MB’s regular schedule. Thanx!

Are they just doing Service A and Service B, or adding the mileage services to your visits? Extra things that need attention (you may want to verify they have been performed); Front and Rear Differential fluid change; transfer case fluid change; full transmission and torq converter drain, clean, filter change, fill; coolant drain, flush, fill; spark plug change; brake fluid flush; serpentine belt change; Airmatic filters change (if equipped); lube sunroof/pano roof tracks; check tailgate lift strut (non powered side (if it stops applying lift force, it wears out the powered side, which costs a LOT more to replace); and I think fuel filter (in tank, under rear seat...a pain to get to) is due for change at about 90k miles.

Would you mind sharing where you got information about fuel intank filter replacement @90K miles? Never seen it in any document and the one I have seen says 150K miles.

In general, if the car has been serviced on schedule, the only I would be worried about are things that are owner/driver or environment-dependent: fluid levels, brake pads, tires, latches, and air filters (if driving in dusty/sandy areas).

To the OP, here is a quick quote ( https://www.yourmechanic.com/schedul...&mileage=90000) . I am not sponsoring anyone, just check the quick list of items to check, and keep in mind the list may be longer (for business interests) than it should. To me 90K is just what a normal service should be. Nothing major.

Folks on BenzWorld note fuel filter recommended 100,000km to 150,000km...60k-90k miles. Preventative maint to prevent fuel pump failure due to dirty filter restriction.

Thank you for the source.. I find it a bit too aggressive and that conclusion may include poor fuel availability

Here is the official written recommendation from MB

As you can see in my signature, the W211 already passed 150K miles, and the fuel filter definitely failed (stranded) as expected like clockwork @150K miles. The 2012 ML350 passed 120K miles and it is running just fine w/o fuel filter issues (yet). The 2015 ML 350 (new to us) has not been done @87K and the 2014 E350 @96K miles and no signs get. Fingers crossed the 3 of them last up 150K.
