2006 ML500 ME-SFI (ME) Control Module

On a 2006 ML500 where is the ME-SFI (ME) control module? On the ML350 it is on top of the intake manifold, not so on the ML500.

I'm having an issue with the engine not turning over. I've traced it to the starter relay not receiving a signal from the ME-SFI (ME) control unit. There are no scannable fault codes on my Autel scanner related to any engine problems. I've jumped out the starter relay (pin 30 to 87) and get the starter turning over when the ignition is turned on. I have 12.5v on the starter relay fuse 105 and the fuse is good. The starter fuse 122 is good. The starter relay is good. I don't seem to be getting the ground from the ME-SFI (ME) control unit to pull in the Starter Relay on pin 86. When the ignition key is turned on all systems come on as normal just the starter doesn't kick in when switched to start. The other question I have is what are the inputs to the ME-SFI (ME) control unit needs to supply the ground for the starter relay other than the key input?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Unit is located in the Right Hand Side footwell. This link may assist.

Thank you for the link, that helps with the fuses.
I think I found something that says the ME-SFI control unit is in the front right wheel well behind the wheel well liner. I haven't checked it out yet.
This all happened after going through a carwash, so wheel well could be an area where water might have splashed?

The ML's have a history of water ingress. Front footwell is one of them as is rear cargo area where the rear SAM is located. No doubt there will be posts in the forum that address it.

You should move your post to the W164 forum. This one is the W166 and is for 2012+ cars.
