New owner chasing my tail on two issues
Hi all,
New member and first time mb owner here.
Purchased a 14 Ml550 for my wife earlier this year and we absolutely love it. Without a full life story, I am relatively active over on bimmerforums and audizine and have tried to do my own research for these problems as I know I am definitely not the first to have encountered them. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a solution and am resorting to this thread.
First issue is a P2097 post cat fuel trim too rich code.
Rear 02 sensors have been replaced twice and both times the code went away for about a month and then came back. The car is driving fine and we have not seen any change in mpg from when the code is thrown vs not. I’ve seen some threads about bad gas or using cataclean but I’m tentative to go that route having had a bad sea foam experience years ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Gas is always 93 Shell.
2nd and much less important but still annoying would be the cup holder “flaps”. When we purchased the car one of these was broken and I pulled the whole console out and replaced both sides. That was about 6 months ago and one broke this morning. Is there any option to fix these other than pulling the whole console out? I noticed the cup holders on the GLE are different and have considered picking up a used one from eBay if that is a more long term solution but I figured the wiring would be different and it may be a non starter.

If you've done any work by removing the air plenum (e.g. replacing air filter, etc.) make sure it's properly seated and *locked* at the throttle body. That usually causes rich code on both banks but I see you only have bank 1 code - but it's worth checking to rule it out. Also check for vacuum leaks at the intake.
